In 1969, John T. Logan Sr. founded John Logan Drywall in Lexington, Kentucky, starting with just three employees focused on painting and cleaning. By the early 1970s, he shifted into drywall installation, defining the company's core specialty. Breaking through significant barriers, John Sr. became the first African American to work for Ball Homes, forging a decades-long partnership built on trust and exceptional craftsmanship.

 

A Rich Multi-Generational Heritage

Over 50 years later, JLD Inc. remains a proud, minority-owned family enterprise. John Sr.’s son, John Logan Jr., serves as president, successfully expanding the business into major commercial construction. Today, a third generation—John III, Debora, Brandon, and Cameron—manages daily operations, scaling the company from small residential jobs to multi-million-dollar commercial developments.
